A horn sounds as you come off the gangway, and about 450 metres later you are standing in the camp. Ken Stornes and his crew put an oar in your hands and take the longship out onto the fjord. Then the axes, in fenced lanes, and the bows, with the crew beside you.

The last half hour is Ken's: stories of death diving — dødsing, the Norwegian high dive — of winters on the fjord, and of what it takes to live this way. Every guest leaves with a diploma signed by Ken — and time for the photograph everyone wants.

  • Rowing a Viking ship on the Lustrafjord
  • Axe-throwing and archery, supervised lane by lane
  • Saga stories from Ken Stornes himself
  • A Viking diploma, signed at the camp
