New mooring boat
NEWS: To keep turnarounds tight and safe at the very end of Sognefjord, we’ve commissioned a full-aluminum 8-meter mooring boat (≈3 tonnes) powered by a 240 hp diesel water-jet. The water-jet removes propeller-snag risk around mooring lines and gives exceptional maneuverability for nose-in positioning and quick pivots. A flip-down roof gear lets us pass under low-hanging lines, while a bow hatch and two forward bollards enable handling of two lines simultaneously.
For comms and authority: VHF Ch. 12/16, a loud horn, and a blue light (ex-fire-boat fit). She’s solid and strong—built entirely in aluminum—and comfortably cruises at 30 knots to reach working positions fast. Ahead of 2026 we’ll add a bow thruster for even better control in strong winds and tight quarters.
Beyond mooring, the vessel serves as a patrol boat on demand with ISPS response times under five minutes during calls. Result: cleaner approaches, faster line runs, and safer operations on big-ship days.
Operator-agnostic: Book via your preferred ship agent. Local delivery by Skjolden Port.
